(From Parker Mortuary)Ginger Wade Alexander was born in Port Arthur, TX to H. E. (Earl ) Wade and Juanita Wade on August 8, 1947.
Ginger grew up in Carl Junction, MO. Graduated high school in 1965 and went on to get her college degree in social work at SMU.
Ginger was married October 12, 1985 to Darrel (Tom) Alexander, who survives at the home.
Ginger worked many years for in Social Services at Oak Hill/Freeman Hospital and retired from there. Ginger and Tom lived a quiet life out in the woods, enjoying nature in peace. A cabin in the woods, is all Ginger ever wanted.
Ginger passed away October 5, 2025, after a long illness of dementia. Ginger was cared for at home, by her loving husband Tom, and her caregiver Annetta Schrader.
Ginger was an active, devoted member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin, her entire life.
Ginger is survived by her husband Tom, her mother Juanita Wade, brother Gary Wade, SIL Robyn Wade, Brother Gale Wade, SIL Glenda Wade, and five nieces, and nephews.
We remember Ginger for her kind heart, thoughtful mind, and frugal living tips. Ginger never met a second hand store she didn’t like!
Ginger was one in a million to her family and friends.
She will be greatly missed.
Burial will be at a later time.
