J. R. Kelley

(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)

It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of Paul Kelley Jr., who passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, with his family by his side.

J.R. was 83 years and 11 months old at the time of his passing. He resided in Neosho, Missouri. J.R. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved God and his family with every ounce of his heart.

His greatest passion was being there for his family, helping them see out their dreams, and pushing them to be the best they could be. He loved to talk, never met a stranger, and was quite the jokester. J.R. filled his family’s life with joy, laughter and love. He enjoyed riding horses, team roping, refurbishing classic cars, and attending his grandkids' and great-grandkids' sporting events as their biggest cheerleader. J.R. was a rancher and building contractor, building several homes throughout his lifetime.

J.R. married Connie (Meador) Kelley on December 5, 1959. They were married 65 years and 10 months.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Connie Kelley; one sister, Carol Plumlee and husband Lonnie Plumlee; two daughters, Kristina (Kelley) Welker and Karla Kelley; granddaughter, Tara Porter and husband, John
Porter; granddaughter, Taylor Tyrrell; grandson, Colton Welker and fiancée, Ashley Alvey; grandson, Dylan Welker and fiancée, Sarah Lauchnor; great-grandchildren, Karson, Jace, Hallie, Lucas, and Liana; along with many other loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

J.R. is preceded in death by: parents, Paul Kelley and Mary (Huffman) Kelley; sister, Gloria Skelton, and sister, Sharon Nunn.

A private celebration of life is planned for a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Mo
