(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Rose Ann (Honeywell) Davis, age 80 of Galena, passed away at 6:58 AM on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.
Rose Ann was born on February 4, 1945 to the union of John D. Honeywell and Rosalee F. (Howerton) Honeywell. While her father worked in road construction, the family moved all over the country following his various building projects. At one time, she had even attended eight different schools in one year.
After moving back to Southeast Kansas, she graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1963. She later attended Kansas State Teacher's College, now Pittsburg State University, where she earned her Masters Degree in Special Education. With that degree, she began a lifelong career working at Galena USD 499. Her work touched the lives of an entire generation of students at Liberty Elementary until her retirement in 1985.
She loved collecting antiques, crafting, and scrapbooking. Every wall of her home was decorated with antiques, collectible dolls, and portraits that she found unique. She was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, and attended First Presbyterian Church in Galena prior to it's closing in 2005.
She was united in marriage with Bill "Milo" Davis on August 7, 1981 in Miami, OK. He survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, John Adams (wife, Shelley) of Galena, Kevin Adams of Springfield, MO, Brad Adams (wife, Shelley) of Purcell, MO; seven grandchildren, Justin Adams (wife, Kyna) of Joplin, MO, Jeff Adams of Springfield, MO, Samantha Adams of Springfield, MO, Katy Adams (Greg) of Webb City, MO, Brett Adams of Springfield, MO, Darrell Adams (wife, Billie) of Galena, KS, Alyssa Adams of Iola, KS; three great-grandchildren; and a "bonus son", Gerald McCumber (wife, Michelle) of Galena, KS.

Mrs. Davis has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Hillcrest Cemetery of Galena.
