(From White Funeral Home)James F. Davis, 60, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 in Cassville, Missouri. He was born on September 6, 1965, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of James W Davis "Jim" & Emilia "Midge" (Rodriguez) Davis.
James spent his youth in La Mirada, California, where he attended high school and became a standout athlete. He competed at the state level in cross country. Later in life, he continued to channel that strength by training in the martial art of Muay Thai, something he took great pride in learning.
A man of many passions, James loved teaching himself to play the bass guitar. Music brought him joy, and he was an avid concert-goer who cherished the energy and connection that live performances gave him. Whether he was listening to his favorite bands or playing bass lines with his favorite artists music. This was one of the ways he expressed himself most freely.
He also enjoyed the simple joys of life — long days spent fishing, time shared with family and friends, riding his motorcycle, and taking trips to Chicago to cheer on the Cubs. These moments brought him peace, adventure, and happiness.
James is preceded in death by his father, James W. Davis, and his brother, Richard D. Davis.
He is survived by his loving mother, Emilia “Midge” (Rodriguez) Davis of Cassville, Mo; his brother, Ray E. Davis, and wife Cyndee Davis of Monett Mo; his sister, Shannon Dunn, and husband Ralph Dunn of St Joseph, Mo; his son, Talbert Cook of Wheaton, Mo; his son Ty Davis of Aurora, Mo; Emilee Davis and her son, Steven; his grandson of Springfield, Mo; several nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
Each of them will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
James will be remembered for his warm heart, his gentle nature, his quiet strength, and the love he gave so generously. His presence made life brighter for those around him, and he will be deeply missed.
The family will have the Celebration of Life on December 6, 2025, from 1pm to 3 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Cassville, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of White Funeral Home and Crematory.
