Joan Williams

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Joan Williams of Ritchey, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2025, at the age of 96 in Neosho, Missouri. She was born December 28, 1928, in Ritchey to Chauncey “Clay” Ritter and Augusta (Redmon) Ritter.

Joan married John E. Williams on September 26, 1945, in Ritchey, and they shared 69 years of living life and serving the Lord together until his passing on January 10, 2015.

Joan was a God-fearing woman and loved the Lord and her family above all else. She was a member of Ritchey Bible Holiness Church where she attended most all of her adult life. Joan and her husband, John also spent some time in the ministry in Mesa, AZ, having a special love for the Native Americans, pastoring those from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

She was gifted with her hands and her heart—an excellent homemaker, a talented cook, and a skilled quilter who made sure her family and friends were wrapped in something made with love and care.

From her unforgettable cinnamon rolls to her enchiladas, everything she made was excellent and carried the warmth of her small but welcoming kitchen. Joan also enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors. After days of hard work, her and John retired to the porch to relax in the porch swing, overlooking the little town of Ritchey.

Joan is survived by her children Patty (Alvin) Washington, Joyce Adams, Kathy (Bob) Courtney, Dan (Tammy) Williams and; thirteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, six siblings, her daughter, Carol Ankney, her son, John David Williams, and one grandchild.

Visitation will be held on December 1, 2025, from 9:00–10:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Newtonia IOOF Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ritchey Bible Holiness Church c/o Clark Funeral Home PO Box 66 Neosho, MO 64850.
