Juanita James

Juanita Lucille James, age 94, of Golden City, Missouri, passed away on November 9, 2025, at St. Luke's Assisted Living in Carthage, Missouri.

Juanita was born on June 22, 1931, in Golden City, Missouri, to Delbert Cecil Fanning and Ora Lucille (Holtzclaw) Fanning. She graduated from Golden City High School. On April 30, 1949, she married William Terrill “Bill” James.








Juanita worked as an accountant for Price Candy Company in Kansas City, Missouri. After retiring and moving back to Golden City, she served multiple terms on the city council. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Golden City and served on multiple church committees.

Juanita enjoyed embroidery, playing cards, making teddy bears for all her nieces and nephews and was a loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan, seldom missing a game.

Survivors include one brother, Gene (Sue) Fanning, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; one brother, Delbert (Bud) Fanning and wife, Leana Mae; one sister, Mary Lou York and husband Glenn; one sister-in-law, Eugenia Fanning; and a nephew, Mike Fanning.








Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the First Christian Church of Golden City. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the I.O.O.F. Cemetery and may be left in the care of Daniel Funeral Home.
