Sam Spencer

Samuel (Sam) Spencer passed into the loving arms of Jesus on November 15, 2025, at the age of 78 at his home in Anderson, Missouri.

He was born to Eugene Paul Spencer and Juanita Mae Chase Spencer on March 27, 1947 in Anderson, Missouri. He grew up on a farm and graduated from Anderson High School in 1965.

Uncle Sam called him to active duty in May,1966 and he served his country in the Army in Vietnam. After his service was completed, he rejoined Western Electric and later Southwestern Bell as a Communication Technician. 






 He married Charolette Durham on August 26, 1969. After 33 years on the job, he retired in 1999. He and Charolette have traveled for the last 20 years attending many dirt track stock car races from Florida to New Mexico to Minnesota and all points in between and making many lifelong friends.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charolette, one son Michael Gene Spencer and wife Julie of Neosho, Missouri; one daughter, Holly Beeman and husband, Justin of Gentry, Arkansas; two grandsons, Cade and wife Mariya and Chance, all of Neosho, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Saylor. One brother Henry Spencer and wife Martha of Joplin, Missouri; 3 sisters Peggy Roark and husband Bill of Nixa, Missouri; Sharon Whitehill and husband Kenney; Susie Stilley of Miami, Oklahoma and many nieces and nephews.








One brother Paul Edward Spencer and one nephew Richard Spencer preceded him in death.

He was a member of Hilltop Mission Church. He was saved a few days before 9/11 and has served the Lord since. He loved his church family dearly.

He was known for his quick wit, love of his friends, race cars, computers, traveling and tinkering in his shop. He could fix or make about any gadget and did so for many.

He was dearly loved and be missed greatly.

The body will be taken for cremation and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
