(From Parker Mortuary)Willmer G. Jackson, , age 65, Joplin, Missouri, entered heaven’s gates with a “well done thy good and faithful servant” on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Willmer was born January 3, 1960 in Los Angeles, California to the late Isaac and Ole Mae (Burton) Jackson.
Willmer graduated from high school in the Valley, California. Though Willmer had other careers throughout the years, he was most proud of his work as a minister of the Gospel. He was a faithful member and Pastor at Believers Connection Church in Joplin. Willmer had many friends and enjoyed lunch time fellowship with his closest friends, Charles, Rick and Aurther. In his spare time, Willmer would be found in his yard, making sure everything was in place and perfect.
On January 1, 2019, Willmer married Dawn Hickman in Springfield, Missouri after being together for many years prior. Dawn survives of the home in Joplin.
Additional survivors include a son, Adrien Jackson; grandchildren, Axton and Tryton; Dawn’s children, Matthew (Tracy) McGarry and Christopher (Kristen) McGarry; grandchildren, Mekhi, Kennadi and Matthew; brothers, Anthony Jackson and Greggory Jackson; sisters, Linda Burton, Tracy Jackson and Kim Jackson; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 15, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, with visitation to follow. The Rev. Charles Melson will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
