George Lewis Richardson, III passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015 at his home with his wife of 50 years by his side.
George was born in Joplin on July 24, 1940 to the late George L Richardson, Jr. and L. Imogene Phillips Richardson. He has lived in the Joplin area most of his life and was a window and door maker for Southwestern Sash and Door Company. He faithfully served our country in the United States Armed Forces.
He married Gail D. Westfall in Las Vegas, NV on January 20, 1964, she survives at the home.
Together, they have six wonderful children, five of which he raised as his own. Those include George A. Hunley and wife Francis of Anaheim, California, Debra Henson of Joplin, Mary Foster of Goodman, Bea Barrett and Toni Hunley of Granby, George L. Richardson, IV and wife Lisa of Joplin; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grand babies with one on the way.
George was loved by all who knew him and was a loved member of Faith Assembly of God in Joplin.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Faith Assembly of God on east 32nd street in Joplin with Rev. Larry Griffin officiating.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
