Marvin James "Jim" Page, age 74, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Spring River Christian Village.
Jim was born July 3, 1940 in Joplin, son of the late Marvin Neal Page and Naydeen O. Jackson Page. Jim grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School & Franklin Tech in 1958 certified in Sheet Metal Layout, and later certified with State of Missouri in Arc Stick Welding, Heliarc Welding, and Torch Welding. He began his career with Hardy Sheet Metal after school where he completed a four year Apprenticeship and Training as a Sheet Metal Worker through Washington, D.C. in 1962 and became a Journeyman. He obtained his Mechanical Journeyman in 1989 and certified technician with York/Trane HVAC. He further completed Du Pont RECO refrigeration Cert in 1996, and DOS Sheet Metal Estimating in Denver, Colorado in 1999.
Jim was owner/president of Ozark Sheet Metal commercial heat & air of Joplin, retiring in 2003. He worked in the Sheet Metal/HVAC business for over 44 years. In his free time Jim enjoyed the lake house, building cars, hunting, fishing, boy scouts and assisting many businesses in Joplin with their Commercial HVAC problems as well as other Sheet Metal HVAC associates in their personal careers to open their own Sheet Metal HVAC Businesses in Joplin.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Sue Day Page; son Steve Page and wife Sheri of Joplin; sister, Nancy D. Allen and husband Richard “Butch” of Grove, Oklahoma; step-mother, Imogene Dymott Page of Carl Junction, Missouri; step-brothers, Jeff Dymott and wife Nancy of Carthage, Missouri, and Larry Dymott of Texas.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Open Air Chapel.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday, April 27th, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
