Kristi Dene (Miles) Carter was born in Jasper, MO on April 18, 1970 and passed away on July 10, 2015 in Carthage, MO. After graduating from Carthage High School in 1988, Kristi attended cosmetology school in Joplin, MO and then worked for some time at the Upper Cut in Carthage. She then attended Crowder College and completed the nursing program there. After passing the state board tests and receiving her license as a Registered Nurse, she worked for a time a Freeman Hospital in Joplin and then became the nurse at the Junoir High School in Carthage. During her time there she was loved and admired by students and colleagues alike. Kristi was employed at the Sunshine Home where she worked with special needs adults.
Kristi was a loving mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend with a heart that reached out to those who were hurting and disadvantaged. Kristi is survived by her Mother, Debra Snodgrass and step-father, Bill Snodgrass, one sister, Karla (Mrs. Darin) Alumbaugh, three children; Kristen Miles, Brylee O’Banion and Kaden Carter, all of Carthage, MO and one granddaughter, Kirksey O’Banion. Kristi was preceded in death by her father, Mitchel Miles.
A Celebration of her life will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Faith Life Worship Center, 736 E. Fairview, Carthage. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ulmer Funeral Home.
