Marcee D. Norman, age 46, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, following a courageous battle with leukemia.
Marcee was born August 12, 1968 to the late Judy Brand in Orange County, California. She grew up and has continued to live in the Joplin area all of her life. Marcee was owner of Marcee's Creative Catering and also was a former police officer for the Carl Junction Police Department.
Marcee was a fighter and never turned down a challenge. She was affectionately known as "Momma Marcee" and "Mimi" to everyone who knew her, and also fed most of Joplin at some point.
Marcee married Vincent Norman on February 24, 2013 in Texas. She was his best friend and absolute love of his life. He resides of the home.
Additional survivors include daughters, Ashley DeWeese of Joplin, Heather Baumann and husband, Michael of Joplin, Kaitlen Manley and husband, Derick Olsson of Dallas, TX.; step-daughter, Shene' Loyd of Carthage; grandbabies, Chase Baumann, Blake Baumann and Damon Walbridge; brother, Gary DeWeese of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and one aunt, Mary Howard also of Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Clara Brand.
A balloon release will be held Saturday, July 18th at 3:30 p.m. at the Webb City Praying Hands followed by a Celebration of Life in Carthage.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
