Donald Ray Martin, 76, Neosho, went to meet the Lord on September 29, 2015 in Neosho.
Don was born September 12, 1939 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He graduated from Farmington, New Mexico High School, class of 1957. Don was a proud member of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1961-1968 and was stationed throughout the United States and served in Vietnam, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in 1972 with a business degree. He held various positions in Chickasha and Ninnekah over a thirty year span, including plant manager for Sentry, Delta Faucet, loan officer for Chickasha Bank and Ninnekah High School Business teacher and Ninnekah Times/yearbook sponsor. Don served the city of Chickasha as a city councilman and as vice mayor. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan, ‘How about them Cowboys.
Don is survived by his wife, Lana Martin of Neosho, Missouri; two sons, Lyndall Martin and wife, Tamra of Frisco, Texas and Tony Martin and wife, Sharla of Neosho, Missouri; a brother, Bob Martin and wife, Jenene of Edmond, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Meredith Martin and Reece Martin, Sarah Tevebaugh and husband, Colin; grandsons, Jared Martin, Tyler Martin and wife, Carrie; great grandchildren, Hannah and Trenton Martin; step brother, Ray Sumpter and wife, Charlotte of Fritch, Texas and sister in law, Dixie Martin of Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Leslie Martin and wife, Delores and his mother, Phyllis (Johnston) Martin Sumpter and husband, David; a brother, Norm Martin and nephew, Kirk Tabor.
