Norman Ray 'Norm' Wininger, Jr., age 47, Joplin, passed away at 8:27 a.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015 at his residence after an illness.
Norm was born January 4, 1968 at Otis Air Force Base, Bourne, Massachusetts to Norman Wininger, Sr. and Sharon Bowins Wininger and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
He worked as a purchasing agent at America's Car Mart for fourteen years and had also worked at the former Ryan's Steak House in Joplin for fifteen years.
Norm enjoyed collecting guns and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. He will be missed by all that knew him.
He was married to his best friend of 21 years, the former Michelle Massey. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Norman Ray Wininger III, Joplin, Justin Levi Wininger, Joplin; a daughter, Haley Nicole Massey Wininger, Joplin; parents, Norman R. Wininger, Sr. and Sharon R. Wininger, Joplin; one brother, Raymond Wininger and his wife, Sara, Joplin; grandchild, Amorie Willow Wininger, Joplin; several extended family members and many friends.
Norm was preceded in death by a son, Devon and a brother, George.
Services are planned for Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Joplin. Pastor Gerald Crum will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City. Pallbearers will be Steven Bradfield, Corey Simmons, Kevin Glenn, Homer Knisley, Kevin Iseli, Brad Bluejacket and Steve Chew. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortruary. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, in care of Parker Mortuary.
