Carolyn Sue Gover Greener Steele, 66, Mulberry, Kan., passed away Sept. 23, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan. She was born Feb. 21, 1949 in Kansas City, Mo. to Everett Scott and Mildred Mae Oglesby Gover.
She graduated from Lee's Summit High School in Lee's Summit, Mo. in 1967 and received her Associate Degree from Central Missouri State University in 1969. She has been employed at Computing Plus in Pittsburg for more than 35 years.
In 1997, she married John Steele and they moved to Golden City, Mo. where John was the minister at the Golden City Christian Church. In the last few years, they moved to Mulberry, Kan.
Carolyn loved the Lord, adored her family and liked people in general, but the light of her life was her three grandsons, Andrew Scott Greener, Eudora, KS; and Seth Aaron and Matthew Scott Greener, Gardner, Kan.
She is survived by her husband, John Steele, Mulberry; son and daughter-in-law, David and Vickie Greener, Gardner, Kan.; son, Jon Aaron Greener, his partner, Stephanie Hamilton and her daughters Shaelee of Casper, WY, Augiste and Isabelle, Eudora, Kan.; aunts, Evelyn Gover and Ruth Reed of Independence, Mo.; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Terry Howerton; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Mary Jo Gover; niece, Nicole Sharp and her daughter, Ophelia; nephew, Daniel Howerton, all of Northwest Arkansas; plus a large, loving extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Matthew Scott Howerton and Michael Levi Gover.
Visitation will be Wed., Sept. 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. and the memorial service will be at 11 a.m. at the Liberal Christian Church, 113 E. Yale Street, Liberal, Missouri.
