William I. ‘Bill’ Saddler, age 90, Granby, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 29, 2016.
Bill was born November 23, 1925 in Chester, PA, the son of Carey and Ruth (Long) Saddler. He served in the United States Navy, November 1942 – March 1946, during WW II and then in the U.S. Army, June 1948 – March 1955 during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Master First Sgt. Following his service time, he worked as a security supervisor at Sunbeam and then at Teledyne/Premier Turbines until his retirement. He served as Mayor of Granby for two terms and as Judge one term. He was a member of the Granby Masonic Lodge and a member of Silver Moon Full Gospel Church.
Bill married Dolores ‘Dee’ Saddler on March 12, 1952 in Bentonville, AR and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Alan ‘Cochise’ Saddler and wife, Angie of Del Rio, Texas; grandchildren, Brook Saddler of Dallas, TX; Megan Janes and husband, Brandon of Edmond, OK; Caleb ‘Little Man’ Saddler of Del Rio, TX and Luke Saddler of Oklahoma; two great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Keating of Atlanta, GA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Mike Saddler in 1995; two brothers, Leroy Saddler and Raymond Saddler and a sister, Marie Dragoo.
Graveside services were held today at Granby Memorial Cemetery.
