Lester Ely

Lester M. Ely, age 87, Neosho, died August 10, 2016 at his home, following an extended illness. 

Lester was born Feb. 18, 1929 in Fairview, Missouri, the son of Harry and Myrtle (Erisman) Ely and was a lifelong area resident. He served his country in the U.S. Army, August 1950 through October, 1952. He worked at La Z Boy Midwest, retiring in 1994 and spending time with his family was his biggest pleasure. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Neosho. 

Lester and Barbara (Helf) were married on May 23, 1953 at the home of her parents in Fairview and she survives. Additional survivors are four children, Ron Ely and wife, Cami of Grove, OK; Clarence Ely and wife, Toni of Clearwater Beach, FL; Bev Burleson and husband, Rich of Neosho and James Ely and wife, Rhonda of Neosho; one brother, Gerald Ely of Neosho; two sisters, Ruby Ely and Clara Mae Ely, both of Seneca; thirteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Lester is preceded in death by a son, Don Ely; a brother, Delbert Ely and a sister, Arilla Springer. 

 
Services are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
