Sheila Kay “Gaw” Richards, age 62 of Fairfax, Va passed away Saturday July 30, 2016. She was born on October 18, 1953 in Tompkinsville, Ky the daughter of Jesse and Audrey “Gentry” Gaw. Sheila was a 1971 graduate of Parkwood High School in Joplin Mo. She earned her Associates Degree of Science in Dental Hygiene from Northern Virginia Community College in 2005. She worked as a Dental Hygienist in Fairfax, Va. She was a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association and Northern Virginia Dental Hygienists' Association Historian House of Delegates. Sheila was a Deaconess and choir member at Providence Baptist Church in McLean, Virginia and especially enjoyed her service on many dental missions to needy areas of Kentucky.
Sheila was preceded in death by her father, and a sister Jessica Ann Gaw. Survivors include her Mother Audrey Gaw, three brothers: James Gaw and wife Cathy of Springfield, Mo, Daniel Gaw of Bradenton, Fl, and John Gaw of Texas; three sisters: Sandy Bray and husband Larry of Naches, Wa, Joy Woodhull and husband Michael of Sarasota, Fl and Laura Wolfe and husband Jeff of Plano, Tx; many loving nieces and nephews and her 16-year-old beagle Skippy.
Memorial Graveside service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday August 2, 2016 at the Osborne Cemetery Joplin, Mo. the family suggests contributions to the Harmony Heights Baptist Church in care of the Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
