Betty Lou McCoy, age 68, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her home following an illness. Betty was born February 21, 1948 in Joplin, Mo. and had lived in Joplin all her life. Betty was employed with St. John’s Regional Medical Center, now Mercy Hospital for 37 years, retiring in 2013.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William and Neoma Anderson McCoy, and a brother, Ray McCoy. Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Smith and husband Jim, Duenweg, Mo., and her twin sister, Nancy Rainey and husband Joe, Joplin, four brothers, Bill Anderson and wife Mable, Belton, Mo., William McCoy and wife Dee, Webb City, Mo. Eddie McCoy and wife Jean, Evansville, In., and John McCoy and wife Gayle, Diamond, Mo. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Graveside Services to follow at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Gibson Cemetery in Neosho, Mo., John Rainey will officiate. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be David Rainey, Phillip Rainey, Joe Rainey, Jim Barry, Adam Rainey, and Alan Cornell. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
