Roy D. Wilson, age 90, of Webb City, Mo., went home to Heaven on Saturday October 1, 2016, following an illness.
Roy was born on March 10, 1926 in Sallisaw, Ok., the son of the late John and Myrtle (Timmerman) Wilson. He has been an area resident most of his life. He purchased Bill’s Electric in 1959 and owned and operated the company until the early 1980’s. He was a member of Oronogo Methodist Church.
He married Emogene Erwin on February 12, 1948 in Van Buren, Ar. She preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by one brother, James Wilson.
Roy is survived by two sons, Charlie Wilson and his wife Teresa, Webb City, Mo., and Dale Wilson and his wife Cindy, Carthage, Mo.; two daughters, Mildred VanSlyke and her husband Steve, Webb City, Mo., and Barbara Jean Trombley and her husband Jack, Webb City, Mo.; two brothers, Kenneth Wilson and his wife Karen, Carl Jct., Mo., and Carl Wilson and his wife Peggy, Oronogo, Mo.; three sisters, Marilene Erwin, Purcell, Mo., Lois Cook and her husband Joe, Carl Jct., Mo., and Joyce Wilson, Webb City, Mo.; Six grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Randy Wilson and Jack Trombley will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
