Clyde Leon Ward, age 75, of Webb City passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 surrounded by family in his home.
For 42 years, he owned and operated Ward's Asphalt. Clyde was a hard worker all his life. In 2005 he retired and handed over the business to his son, Clyde Jr. Even though he retired you would always find him on the jobsite.
Clyde enjoyed racing, camping and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn; sister Marie Estes; Children, Edith (Mike) Coberley, Cynthia (Jeff) Redmon, Clyde Jr (Rachel) Ward; 6 grandchildren, Zachary (Cali) Redmon, Tiffany (Austin) Norvell, Jennifer (James) Cates, Brandon Coberley , CJ and Clayton Ward; 3 great grandchildren, Colton, Brooklyn and Sadie. Clyde was preceded in death by parents Charles and Agnes, sister, Henrieltta and brother, Clarence Ward.
Visitation for Clyde Ward will be Monday 6:00 -7:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. John Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bubby and Justin Wald, Charlie and Rick Ward and Dwayne and Mike Standley. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.
