Isabelle W. Duensing Nicholson Moss, age 93, of Webb City, Missouri passed away Friday March 24, 2017 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.
She was born August 30, 1923 in Joplin, Missouri to Herman and Lillias (McCluskey) Duensing.
Isabelle served as a Wave in the United States Navy during WWII. She was employed with Sears in the credit department and later worked in the Webb City School District. She loved traveling, camping and working with the Girl Scouts. She was very involved with the First Baptist Church and the Young at Hearts.
Survivors include a stepson, O.J. Moss; two stepdaughters, Helen Louise Hoover (Larry), and Catherine Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Martha Nicholson-Clark (Tommy); a sister, Helen Johns, a brother, Bill Duensing (Twyla); granddaughters, Michele Nicholson, Angela Dirks (Daniel), and Elizabeth Nicholson; step-granddaughters, Wendy Moss and Ginger Hoover; and step-grandsons, Grant Hoover (Melinda), Jeff Moss (Gretchen), Wardell Anderson, and Jamaal Anderson (Kira). She also had two great grandchildren, twelve step-great grandchildren, and nine step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Boyd Nicholson, and second husband, Oliver Moss, a son, John Nicholson III, a daughter, Edith Nicholson, a brother-in-law, Ted Johns, and a step-grandson, Gary Hoover.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Webb City, Missouri with Pastor Ron Woody officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Webb City, Missouri. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
