Joe Ann Plew, 79, Neosho, died on March 25, 2017 at her home, following declining health since 2013.
Joe Ann was born Nov. 26, 1937 in Catesby, OK, the daughter of Earl and Marie (Roe) Smith. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Granby High School. She was an Avon salesperson and co-owned and operated Plew’s One Stop for over 21 years. She enjoyed knitting, painting and doing ceramics and was a Baptist.
Joe Ann married William ‘Bill’ L. Plew, Sr. on July 28, 1956 at Cave Springs Baptist Church and he preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 2013. Joe Ann is survived by her three sons, Ray Plew of Carterville; Doug Plew and wife, Connie of Rogers, AR and Bill Plew, Jr. of Neosho; one brother, Earl S. Smith and wife, Mary Jane of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother.
Services for Joe Ann will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Rev. Ralph Walker will officiate. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 6 pm. Following the services on Thursday, Joe Ann will be taken for cremation.
