Lola B. Ireland of Joplin, MO passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. She was 91.
Lola was born February 7, 1926 in Jefferson, OK to Erve and Opal (Mellott) Bules. She had lived in Miami from 1948 – 1980, when she moved to the Grand Lake area and lived until 2002 when she moved to Joplin. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miami, OK. Lola worked as a manicurist for Pixie’s Beauty Shop in Miami for several years before working as a secretary and receptionist for the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services In Miami.
Lola married Ernest Humphrey October 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 1976. She later married Ray Ireland on October 27, 1984 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son Dr. Guy Humphrey, her parents and siblings Herschel Bules and Bernice Greeson.
Survivors include her daughter Gay Harrison and husband Roy of Miami, OK, a brother Marvin Bules of Pond Creek, OK, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami, OK. Rev. Geoff Buffalo will officiate.
