Mary ‘Maxine’ Caywood, 87, of Goodman, passed away March 19, 2017 at Freeman Hospital in Neosho.
She was born December 6, 1929 in Neosho Missouri, the daughter of Loren and Alice (Whites) Griffith. Maxine lived most of her life in the Goodman area. She had worked as a secretary for Rocketdyne, a legal secretary for the Newton County Prosecuting Attorney and Attorney Walter Walker until his retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Goodman and Widow to Widow.
Maxine married Earl Caywood in April, 1951 and he preceded her in death in November, 1995. She is survived by three children, Michael Caywood of Neosho, Patricia Castaneda and husband, Wilbert of Angier, NC and Marvin Caywood and wife, Ursula of Huntsville, AL; sister-in-law, Mary Griffith Barnes; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Neosho. Interment will follow in the Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:30 pm at the funeral home.
