Modesta Luella Beason, 82, of Carthage, Missouri departed this life on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family.
Modesta entered this life on February 20, 1935 in Brooklyn, Iowa to the union of the late Asa and Isla (Anderson) Talbott. She grew in Grinnell, Iowa and on December 19, 1954 she was united in marriage to George William Beason. Together they shared sixty years until his passing on February 22, 2015. She and George later moved to Texas, and after his retirement they moved to the LA Russell, Sarcoxie, Missouri area. For several years she worked for Hudson Farms in Carthage, Missouri. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Carthage, Missouri. She enjoyed embroidering, bowling, sewing, cooking and truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Jim Talbott.
Modesta is survived by her children, Mary Beason (Larry), George Beason, Carolyn Clark (Eric) and Alice Sims (Stephen) all of Carthage, Missouri, Vicky Dady (Charles) of Cleburne, Texas, John Beason (Paula) of Mount Vernon, Missouri and Asa Beason (Tammy) of Alvarado, Texas; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Trease of Grinnell, Iowa; sister-in-law, Wannetta Beason Tiedemann of Sarcoxie, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services for Mrs. Beason are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Christ’s Church of Perseverance, Joplin, Missouri, with children and family officiating.
