Billy Jack Buzzard, age 85 of Venice, Fl., passed away late Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the North Care Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.
Jack was born on August 12, 1931 in Hornet, Mo., the son of Arthur and Freda (Jackson) Buzzard. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his service, Jack worked as driver for Yellow Freight Co. for many years before retiring in 1999. Jack was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Venice. He was also a member of both the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.
He married Luanne Armstrong in 1954, they were married for 63 years, she survives. Additional survivors include two sons; Billy Buzzard, Jr. and wife Carla of Cave Springs, Ar., Paul Buzzard of Kansas City, a daughter; Sarah Vaughan and husband Dale of Kansas City, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Richard Buzzard, a daughter, Robin Buzzard, brother, Buel Buzzard, sister, Eula Fowler, and a grandson, William Jackson Moffet.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Joplin, Mo. Pastor Bob Howard, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
