Alonzo Lenis Rundle, age 87 of Joplin, Missouri (North of Carterville) passed away Tuesday May 9, 2017 at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born January 29, 1930 in Treece, Kansas to Arthur T. and Iva (Simmons) Rundle.
Alonzo married Dorothy Petty on July 22, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas and she preceded him in death on December 25, 2015.
He was employed in the Public Works Department with the City of Webb City for many years. He enjoyed watching wrestling on television, being outdoors in his garden, collecting old cars, and working with his junk.
Alonzo is survived by two sons, Howard Rundle, Webb City, Missouri, Lenis Rundle and wife Rhonda, Carterville, Missouri; two daughters, Barbara Davenport and husband Dale, Carterville, Missouri, Beverly Proffit, Joplin, Missouri; one brother, Delbert Rundle, State of Oregon; two sisters, Doris Upton, Joplin, Missouri, Gladys Jackson, State of Arkansas; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Alonzo Leo Rundle, Donnie Rundle, Ivan Rundle; two daughters, Debrah Rundle, Iva Rundle; two brothers, and three sisters.
Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday May 15, 2017 at the Webb City Cemetery with Denny Carver officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday May 14, 2017 at the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home.
