Johnnie Glenn Heath, age 84, a resident of Joplin, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017.
Johnnie was born July 29, 1932 in Golden City, Missouri, to the late Hallet Heath and Bernice Wright Heath.
He married Erma Robbins-Forbes, in 1950 in Joplin, Missouri. Together they had five daughters, they later divorced.
He worked for Tamko Roofing Products for 30 years where he designed some of the machines before working for as a machinist for Marrett ice cream in Kansas City. He, along with his cousin, Bill Wright , designed the machine that made the "Red, White and Blue" Bomb Pop.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting antiques and a good drink. He lived his life the way he wanted to, and never spent one day in the hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Shultz; and three brothers, Lloyd, Bud and Bill.
Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Brock, Joplin, Betty Lewis, and Glenda Heath and husband, Jerry, Grand Junction, Colorado, and Patty Minnis and husband, Mark, Denver, Colorado; one brother, Jim Heath, Redings Mill; and a sister, Kay Cargile, Webb City; ten grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren.
A celebration of life for him and his brother Bill Heath will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the home of Sharon Brock, 1559 S. Sassafras Lane, Joplin. Burial will take place at later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
