Richard Dean Barth, 81 years, of Noel, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at his residence in Noel, Missouri, with his loving family by his side.
Richard was born on January 22, 1936 at Peru, Kansas to the late Charles Wesley and Mae (Whited) Barth. He grew up in the Noel area and attended the Noel School. Richard joined the Army in 1954 serving in Germany where he met and married his wife, Barbara on February 18, 1957. Following the military, he worked construction, also a mechanic, drove a gasoline transport truck, owned the Lone Wolf service station, was a police officer in Noel, worked security at Hudson Foods and Simmons, retiring from Simmons in 1994. Richard was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church in Noel, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Thomas Barth, David Barth and Bob Barth; a sister, Margaret Blakemore.
Richard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Barth; a son, Richard David Barth of Noel, Missouri, a daughter, Shirley Anne Armstrong of Noel, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jamie Judy, Kenneth Armstrong, Kyle Armstrong; a great grandchild, Tanner Lee Rowe; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Richard.
Funeral services for Richard Barth will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Pastor Marilyn O'Brien will officiate. Burial will follow in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, May 22, 2017 in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark funeral home. The family will receive friends at this time.
