George Timothy “Tim” Montgomery of Quapaw, OK passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with Cancer. He was 63.
Tim was born August 9, 1953 in Miami, OK to George and Mary (Jones) Montgomery. He had lived in the Miami, Quapaw and Joplin area most of his life and attended the Assemblies of God Church. Tim served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and worked as a warehouse manager for Downstream Casino. He enjoyed wood working and metal working.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Tim married Jerri (Mathews) Montgomery August 9, 1972 and she survives of the home. Additional survivors include 2 daughters Kristi Tate and husband Ted of Quapaw, OK and Sarah Hiatt and husband Zac of Joplin, MO, his mother, Mary Montgomery, his sister June Galloway and husand Tom of Washburn, MO, his step brother, Mark McClintoc and wife Beverly of Joplin, MO, and 5 grandchildren Dakota, Jakob and Josiah Tate, Jennifer Pearl and Molly Belle Hiatt
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at , First Christian Church in Miami, OK officiated by Patty McAfee. Interment will be in Quapaw Tribal Cemetery west of Quapaw, OK. Pallbearers will be Ted Tate, Zac Hiatt, JR Mathews, Perry Mathews, Jakob Tate and Dakota Tate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jon D. Whitecrow and Jake Whitecrow, Sean Mathews, Thomas Mathews and Tom Galloway. Tim will lie in state at the family home 3749 S. 670 Road in Quapaw, OK until service time. Services have been placed in the care of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami. OK.
