Billy Joe Goff, Sr., age 77, of Joplin, Missouri, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 20, 2017 following a short illness.
Billy was born on March 30, 1940 in New Plymouth, Idaho to the late Clarence Goff and Bertha Johnson Goff. Early in life, Billy was the Animal Warden and a Reserve Officer for the Joplin Police Department and later worked for over 20 years with the Joplin Special Road District as a truck driver. Billy was a member of New Hope Assembly in Joplin.
On September 10, 1964, he married Norma Arterburn at their home in Joplin. After almost 53 years together, Norma survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a son, Billy J. Goff, Jr. and friend, Barb of Joplin; daughters, Tammy K. Sanders and husband, Mark of Kansas City, Kansas and Melisa L. Huber of Altoona, Pennsylvania; brother, Ted Goff of Texas; sisters, Betty Howard, Joanne Phillips and Hazel Lansaw, all of Joplin; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Other than his parents, Billy is preceded in death by sisters, Edra Dobbs, June Speaker and Norma Leach and a brother, Charles Goff.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
