Crissie DeLories "Dee" Tinney, age 85, of Carl Junction, Mo., passed away on July 6, 2017 at The Communities of Wildwood, following an illness.
Dee was born on March 30, 1932 in Melrose, Ks., the daughter of the late Eugene and Pearl (Watson) Jones.
She has been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from Joplin High School in 1951. She married William Dale Tinney on June 7, 1952 in Joplin. Together they raised four children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She worked in various jobs throughout her life. She was a chairside assistant to Dr. Scorse and Dr. Crutchfield, and she was a receptionist for Dr. Schooler and for a local T.V. station. She served as a volunteer for the Joplin School District and was very instrumental in getting Title I passed. She was a member of the Freeman Ladies Auxiliary and the Candy Striper Program. She enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dale Tinney on March 5, 2012; two brothers, Robert Jones and LeRoy Jones; and one sister, Darlene Ingle.
She is survived by her children; Debra Dunham and husband, Steve, Carl Junction, Mo., Skip Tinney and wife Connie, Fair Grove, Mo., Stana Walker, Carl Junction, Mo., and Rusty Tinney and wife Sandy, Joplin; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Mike Ingle will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ty Willoughby, Taylor Willoughby, Hawk Dunham, Andrew Tinney, Joshua Walker, and Keegan Tinney.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment of Cremains will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
