Jewell G. Osborn, 78, passed away August 4, 2017 at National Healthcare in Joplin. Jewell was born March 16, 1939 in Jasper, Missouri to Lewis Hanner Edwards and Goldie “Phipps” Edwards. She was a lifetime resident of Carthage and worked at Schreiber Foods for 35 Years.
Jewell was a member of American Business Women’s Association and the Red Hats. She loved to play bingo and travel as often as time allowed.
Jewell is survived by two daughters: Sheila Ogle (Randy) of Sarcoxie and Rhonda Brockelman of Joplin, two brothers: David Edwards of Purcell, Missouri and Melvin Edwards of Quapaw, Oklahoma, one sister Vera Russell of Wewoka, Oklahoma, five grandchildren: Brandy Osborn, Pam Guerara, Larry Jordan, Christopher Ogle, Brittany Godsey, 15 great grandchildren plus one on the way, and two great-great grandchildren on the way.
Jewell is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers: Clint, Cletus, Dean, Norman, Charles and Otis Claude Edwards, two sisters: Lois McKenzie and Nadine Barber.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2017 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
