Ruth Ann Reynolds, age 77 of Joplin, Missouri, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born May 3, 1940 in Carterville, Missouri, to the late, Rev. Paul R. Williams and Opal Boyd Williams. After graduating from Missouri Southern State College, Ruth worked as an educator for the Neosho School District. Ruth was a talented piano player, playing at the age of 5 years old for her church, and later, for many local quartets throughout the years. Ruth enjoyed teaching her family and friends the piano.
Ruth was very active in her church, not just as the piano player, but also as a Sunday School teacher and anything else you asked of her. She was telling people about her Savior up to the time of her death. Ruth was a beautician and also loved to decorate cakes. She was the most caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
On March 3, 1967, Ruth married Charles Reynolds in Joplin, Missouri. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, David Reynolds and wife, Rina of Brookings, South Dakota, Troy Reynolds and wife, Monica of Joplin; sister, Paula McClure and husband, John of Springfield, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Andrew Reynolds and fiance', Emily Watson, Logan, Mackenzie, William, Silar, Wyatt and Thomas Reynolds; one sister in-law and best friend, Grace Williams of Carthage.
Other than her parents, a brother, Rev. Jim Williams has preceded Ruth in death.
Funeral services will be held at Journey Church, Joplin, Missouri on Saturday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Brinkhoff, officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Next Steps Ministries in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
