Walter “Bill” Hance, age 72, of Carl Junction, Mo. passed away at 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin. Bill was born March 2, 1945 in Joplin, Mo. and was a lifetime area resident. Bill worked in contractor sales for both Carl Junction Lumber Co. and later with Meeks Lumber Co. in Joplin. He was a U. S. Army veteran.
Bill married Rayma Horine October 1, 1965 in Carl Junction. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2016. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Hance and two sisters, Betty Roth, and Pat Baker. Survivors include three daughters, Julie Mills, Becky Hance, and Chelsea Hance, all of Carl Junction, two brothers, Paul Hance and wife Kathleen, and Gerald Hance, all of Carl Junction, two sisters, Sandra King, Galena, Ks. and Mary Wood, Carl Junction, three grandchildren, Cash Smith, Jazmyne Blaney, and Keaquin Hance, and three great grandchildren, Alexis, Aiden, and Rion Smith.
Graveside committal of ashes will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Carl Junction Cemetery with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
