Bruce Evon Williams, 67, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017. Bruce was born May 14, 1950 in El Paso, Texas to the late Russell and Kathryn Williams.
Bruce was saved as a young boy and baptized on September 8, 1985 into the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Pomona, Missouri.
He graduated high school in 1968 while living in Houston, Missouri. Bruce served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1974. He retired from the United States Department of Agriculture after 27 years. He also assisted the McDonald County Sheriff's Office as an interpreter, as well as, being a volunteer firefighter for the city of Pineville, Missouri.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Sherry Brekenridge Williams; five children, Mike Williams and wife, Tina, of Neosho, Missouri, Pamela Mellen and husband, Rob, of Anderson, Missouri, Michael Williams of West Plains, Missouri, Justin Williams of West Plains, Missouri and Blaze Williams of Carthage, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Sheila, Nick, Lakota, Travis, Nathan, Alaina and Ashlyn; four great grandchildren, Grayson, Heavenleigh, Edward, and Brysens; two aunts, Mamie Winters and Joyce Stokes; as well as several cousins.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, David and Infant Williams.
Graveside funeral services with full Military Honors for Mr. Williams will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri, with Pastor Cecil Hall officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes.
