Carl Myers

Carl Joe Myers, age 69 of Carthage, MO, passed away at 3:15 PM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Mercy Hospital of Joplin.

Carl was born on December 25, 1947 to the union of Joseph W. Myers and Helen L. (Messer) Myers. He worked most of his adult life as a contract courier running a route delivering parcels throughout the region. He retired in 2014.

During his free time, he enjoyed taking his kids fishing, as well as participating in their basketball and softball teams as a coach.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen; and one brother, Michael Rice.

Survivors include his father, Joseph Myers; two sons, Scott Myers of Springfield, MO, and C. J. Myers (wife, Emiliegh) of Carthage, MO; one daughter, Stacey Delossentos (Husband, David) of Washburn, MO; one brother, George “Corky” Myers of the State of Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Garren Myers, Austin Myers, J.T. Myers, Zakary Myers, Seth Delossentos, Sydney Delossentos, and Luke Delossentos; and one great-grandson, Braxton Myers.

Mr. Myers was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home for cremation. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena.
