Fred Jay Marti, age 64, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away Tuesday night, November 28, 2017, at his home.
Fred was born November 20, 1953, in Lamar, Missouri, one of the eight children of Dale and Corrine (Stewart) Marti. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1971 and had lived in Hannibal, Missouri for the past 25 years. His affinity for nature and the river led Fred to a career in landscaping and he took great pride in his work at the Mark Twain Cave and Campground. He enjoyed sports and followed the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include his parents, Dale and Corrine Marti of Lamar; a son, Andy (Misty) Marti, Lamar; a daughter, JoAnn (Jon) Wentland, Carl Junction; three brothers, Larry (Judy) Marti, Lamar, Butch (Deidra) Marti, Jasper, and Kevin (Kathy) Marti, Lamar; four sisters, Karel (Wendell) Anliker, Morton, Illinois, Terri (Jim) Duncan, Lamar, Mary (Jim) Probert, Chouteau, Oklahoma, and Schelli Marti, Oronogo; five grandchildren, Kaitlin & Delaney Wentland, Cooper, Drew, & Hannidy Marti; and special extended family, Brandi and Kevin Lionberger and their children Ryan & Caleb of Hannibal.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 2nd, at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 9:30 until service time Saturday. Committal and burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery southwest of Lamar.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Community Loving Care Hospice in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
