Betty Lee Brooks, age 87, of Joplin, passed away on Monday January 29, 2018, at Mercy Hospital, following an illness.
Betty was born on February 17, 1930 in Ft. Scott, Ks., the daughter of the late Levi Perry and Lilly Laura (Love) Feagins. Betty married Raymond F. Brooks on July 20, 1947, together they raised six children. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Community of Christ Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Brooks on November 18, 2014, and by a sister, Alta J. Norman in 1998.
Betty is survived by three sons, Bobby R. Brooks and wife Joan, Joplin, Steven Brooks and wife Jerri, Conway, Mo., and Brian D. Brooks and wife Tania, Joplin; three daughters, Becky Jo Sears and husband Raymond, Carrolton, Mo., Anita Mae Tignor and husband Marty, Joplin, Mo., and Nancy J. Zamistal and husband Raymond, Warrensburg, Mo.; two brothers, Bill J. Feagins and wife Norma, Pittsburg, Ks., and Leland D. Feagins and wife Cynthia, Redfield, Ks.; one sister, Anna M. Tebbets, Ft. Scott, Ks.; seventeen grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Lester Lay and Pastor Terry McDermid will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel.
