Bud White

Floyd A. ‘Bud’ White, 81, Granby, entered into rest on January 19, 2018.

Bud was born December 30, 1936 in Granby, Missouri, the son of Arthur William and Nancy Marie (Vance) White and was a lifelong area resident. He was a teacher, coach and bus driver for the East Newton School District. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Bud also served as mayor and councilman for the City of Granby. After retiring, he spent his time with family and was an avid bird watcher. Bud also spent time fishing and golfing with the best friends anyone could ask for. 

Bud married his high school sweetheart, Retha ‘Mae’ (Murphy) in 1958 and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. In addition to Mae, additional survivors include four children, Laura Courtney and husband, Terry of Granby, MO; Steve White and fiance, Janet Scheppert of Granby, MO; Patty Krueger and husband, Mike of Neosho, MO; and Drs. Margaret Taylor and husband, Sam of Ozark, MO; one sister, Mary Elizabeth ‘Sis’ Channel; two brothers, Elton White and Bobby Dale White; eight grandchildren, Betsy Brown, Kristi White, Mark Krueger, Hannah Krueger, Glen White, Laramie White, Molly Taylor, and Emma Taylor; five great grandchildren, Aubree, Amelia, Owen, Kiera, Claire, and the highly anticipated sixth great grandchild, Camden Ray Krueger; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nancy Lewis. 

Full military rites and graveside services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at 10 am at the Granby Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends on Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 5 – 6 pm at the Clark Funeral Home in Granby, Missouri. It was Bud’s request that the casket be closed.
