Edward Lynn "Eddie" Parker, age 55 of Joplin, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
Eddie was born August 1, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Claude Parker and Violet Mercer Parker. He graduated from Salem High School, Salem, Missouri. Eddie worked for Joplin Roofing, working with commercial sheet metal. He had a passion for spending time with friends, sharing stories and a Bud Lite. He enjoyed all sports, softball, pool, golf, football, baseball and basketball. His corny jokes and bear hugs will be deeply missed. Eddie will be forever in our hearts.
On September 20, 1997, Eddie married Sarah Shaw in Salem, she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Brooke Parker; son, Preston Parker, both of the home; step daughter, Paige Ebbs and husband, Aaron of Carl Junction; grandson, Addison Ebbs; brothers, Johnny Parker and wife, Darlene of Washington, Missouri, Dean Parker and wife, Betty of Sullivan, Missouri, Dewayne Parker and wife, Pam of Salem, Clifford "Butch" Parker and wife, Wynetta, of Salem; sisters, Brenda Hughes of Salem, Linda Bobmeyer and husband, Richard of House Springs, Missouri; mother and father in-law, Cleo and Jan Shaw of Salem; sister in-law, Julie Baron and husband, Jeff of Tucson, Arizona, Norma Parker of Sullivan; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Other than his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by brothers, Jimmie and Rodger Parker; nieces, Chrystal and Tammy; nephews, Doug and Stacey; brother in-law, Jim Hughes and a sister in-law, Vickie Parker.
Celebration of life will be Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Joplin Elks Lodge #501, where Eddie was a member.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made toward Brooke and Preston's College Fund, in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
