Mrs. Jewell Elzine Blevins, age 77, of Asbury, MO passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Mrs. Blevins was born April 11, 1940 in Delavan, Kansas to Ralph Frownfelter and Oma Crisp Frownfelter. She was a home economics teacher at Carl Junction High School. She graduated from Webb City High School in 1958 and attended the Joplin Junior College. She was a graduate of Pittsburg State College and received her Master’s degree at the Southwest Baptist College. Jewell was a member of the Asbury Baptist Church where she played the piano and also taught Sunday school for many years.
She was married to John Blevins for over 55 years and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include daughters; Aleta Greathouse and husband Phil of Joplin; Sharon Gloyer and husband Phil of Joplin; 3 sisters, Opal Frownfelter and Robert of Airport Drive; Olivene Nichols of Carl Junction and Garnett Richey of Webb City; sister-in-law, Francis Dodd of Asbury and 4 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Simpson Funeral Home of Carl Junction burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends on Friday between 6:00 – 7:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. Please visit www.simpsonfh.com for online condolences.
