Ray Launius, 74, Stella, MO passed away Jan. 26, 2018 in Claremore, OK. He was born Oct. 25, 1943 in Kennett, MO to Hershel and Edna (Mullins) Launius.
Ray was a machinist for the Chrysler Company in Belvedere, IL, retiring in 1993. He also served in the US Marines during the Viet Nam Conflict and was a member of American Legion Post 77 in Belvidere, IL.
Ray married Elayne (Christy) Launius on Nov. 3, 1969 in Rockford, IL; they moved to the Stella area in 1995. Elayne survives of the home. Additional surviving family include four children: Jeffery Allen Gettle and wife, Angela of Claremore, OK; Ronney Ray Launius and wife, Heidi of Broken Arrow, OK; Kenneth Wayne Launius and wife, Traci of Stella, MO; Kevin Paul Launius and wife, Nancy of Miami, OK; two brothers: Chester Launius of Sapulpa, OK and Tom Launius of Stella, MO; six sisters: Joyce Haas of Noel, MO; Wilma Vantrease of Noel, MO; Karen Terry of North Carolina; Linda Thurman of Granby, MO; Penny Russell of Illinois; Teena Bailey of Stella, MO; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clifton and one grandchild, Britney Nicole Gettle.
A memorial visitation will be held between 5 – 6 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
