Roger A. Lackey, 76, Carthage, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his home after a sudden illness. Roger Alan Lackey was born January 11, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK; a son of the late Daniel Lackey and Lillie Thomas Lackey. Roger was a graduate of Eureka High School, Eureka, CA and held an Associate Degree from Eureka College, Eureka, CA. He married Diana Staples in 1963, she preceded him in death in 1979. He married Sally Wasson on March 19, 1980 in Concord, CA; she survives. Roger was an office manager for the shipping industry in San Francisco and Oakland, CA, later working for H.E. Williams Company, Carthage.
Additional survivors include two daughters; Barbara Mason, Santa Cruz, CA and Debbie (Curtiss) Aldrich, Sonora, CA; one son, Michael (Christina) Lackey, Joplin; a sister, Patricia (Francis) MacDonald, Concord, CA; two granddaughters and five grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be held 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday, January 26, 2018 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of Knell Mortuary, 308 W.
