Sandra Sue Denton Williams, age 55 of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2017 at her home following a short illness.
Sandra was born November 22, 1962 in Midland, Texas to the late Garland W. Denton and Ann Collins Denton. Her family later moved to Colorado where she graduated from Cherry Creek High School and Colorado State University. She received her Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from University of North Texas. Sandra worked as an Audiologist for St. John's and Mercy Hospital in Joplin for over 20 years. Prior to that, she worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Denver, Colorado. Sandra was a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and many others.
On November 4, 1995, Sandra married David L. Williams in Tulsa, he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Erin Sexson and husband, Chase of Carthage; son, Denton W. Williams, of the home and fiance', Aneese Buckler; grandchild, Clinton Sexson; brother, James Denton and wife, Stephanie of Aurora, Colorado; uncle, James Denton and wife, Gwynne of Albuquerque, New Mexico; mother in-law, Betty A. Williams of Inola, Oklahoma; brother in-law, Robert L. Williams and wife, Tracy of Oklahoma; sister in-law, Crystal Turnage of Texas and several extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 8 at 4:30 p.m. at Christ Community Methodist Church of Joplin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either, STARKEY Hearing Foundation or American Cancer Society, both in care of the mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
