William D. Johnson, Sr., 86, died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at his home in Neosho, MO from lung cancer.
He was born May 18, 1931 in Quapaw, OK. He moved to Neosho more than 35 years ago from Wichita, KS. He spent most of his life in the retail business, but became a Newton County Sheriff’s Deputy as part of the Area Agency on Aging Program in 1986 and stayed with the Sheriff’s Department until he retired.
He is survived by his son, William D. Johnson, Jr. of Neosho; daughter, Julie Jones and her husband, Bobby of Fredericksburg, VA; daughter, Vera Brennan and her husband, John of Omaha, NE; daughter, Margie Johnson of Neosho; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many, many dancing friends from the Stella Senior Center.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, MO. Interment will follow at Rocky Comfort Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home at a time of visitation on Friday, beginning at 1:00 pm until service time.
