Jeffery Wayne Fulkerson, 70, Granby, entered into rest at his home on Feb. 6, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 7, 1947 in Neosho, MO to Ed and Freda (Boman) Fulkerson, Jeffery was a lifelong area resident. He was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam Conflict. Jeffery was an owner/operator truck driver, previously employed through Swift Trucking. Jeffery was Commander of VFW Post 4142 for ten years and Sr. Vice-Commander for MO VFW for one year. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and was an active volunteer with East Newton United. His greatest joy was his recent baptism in his Christian faith, performed at home by his cousin, Pastor Frank Smith.
On March 14, 1970, Jeffery married Mary Jean O’Dell in Miami, OK; she survives of the home. He is also survived by four children: Shannon McDermott and husband, Greg of Granby, Stacey Morris of Pineville, Edwin Heathman and wife, Leonda of Neosho, Kimberly Summers and husband, Butch of Excelsior Springs, MO; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna Fulkerson, a brother, Gary Fulkerson, a grandson, Timothy Heathman, and two brothers-in-combat, John Gallegos and Ken Kofoid.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home Granby Chapel, with Pastor Frank Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Neosho.
The family will receive friends at a time of visitation from 6 until 7 pm on Monday, Feb. 12 at the Clark Granby Chapel.
