Larry N. Bellamy, age 73, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home in Joplin. Larry was born March 31, 1944 in Goodman, Mo., the son of Conley Carl and Bernice Johnson Bellamy. He had lived in the Joplin area most of his life. Larry was a mechanic and owned and operated Iron Gates Service Station and Garage from 1984-2004.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Larry married Rose Holloway September 26, 1964 in Webb City, Mo. and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, Larry N. Bellamy II and wife Monica, Joplin, two daughters, Shelly Eisenhour and husband Dale, Columbus, Ks. and Dawn Alexander and husband Kevin, Joplin, three brothers, Alva Bellamy and wife Peggy, and Donald Bellamy, all of Galena, Ks. and Darrell Bellamy and wife Abby, Springfield, Mo., five sisters, Geneva Beaver, Carolyn Myers and husband Jack and Loretta Wilkerson and husband Jerry, all of Joplin, Cleta Chappell and husband Roy, Galena, Ks. and Joy Cole and husband Mel, Springfield, Mo., 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Billie Gideon, Joyce “Dude” Dudley, and Fern Ash, a sister in law, Barbara Bellamy, and two brothers in law, Otis Beaver and Willard Ash.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with her grandson, Dalton Morris officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Memorial contributions are requested to the Bellamy family in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
Rest in Peace. I think we first met at South Junior high and then again we touched base at Fleming Foods. You were always good for a laugh and for you laughing was easy. You never forgot a friend and I won't you. God Bless. To the family I'm saddened by your loss
