“The Battle is Over, The Victory is Won” for Willadean Sturgeon born April 4, 1921 to Boone and Edith McQueen in Wheaton, Missouri. On February 4, 2018 she walked into the arms of Jesus at the age of 96 years and 10 months young.
On February 24, 1967 she was united in marriage with Kenneth Sturgeon. They shared almost 51 years together, helping each other on the farm.
She was a charter member of the Wheaton Southern Baptist Church. Her love of God was so evident in her life teaching Sunday School for over half of her life. She also taught at Oshkosh School.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; one son Bill Cooper of Wheaton; one daughter, Joy Tichenor and her husband Ed of Abilene, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Janet Sturgeon of Fairview; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carl Sturgeon and a daughter-in-law, Ruth Cooper.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Muncie Chapel Cemetery in Wheaton.
Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
